FAQ's
Here are some answers to your most asked
questions!
Q. Why don't you accept tips?
A. I believe Massage Therapy is an alternative medicine
practice. You do not tip your doctor, you do not tip your
Chiropractor and you will not tip me! Not only does this
separate massage from a "luxury" service, it also keeps
it affordable for those who seek to add balance, harmony
and health into their lives.
Q. What do I wear? What do I take off?
A. You may wear what you are comfortable wearing. Most
female clients remove their bra or at least unsnap and
pull down their straps while getting a back massage. You
may leave your underwear on or off during the massage and
remember, you will be under a sheet at all times so, no
worries! Many clients enjoy their glutes being massaged
as it is connected to lower back and hip issues. Glutes
may only be truly accessed if you remove your underwear.
If you would NOT like your glutes massaged, you may leave
your underwear on. Of course proper draping will be used
at all time and you will never be exposed. I am very
sensitive to my client's needs. You are literally "in
good hands!"
Q. Can anyone stay in the room with me?
A. Due to client confidentiality and lack of space, no
one is able to stay in the room with you during a session
if you are an adult over the age of 18. There are
beautiful gardens outside of the building to walk through
and I could also put a chair in the hallway for your
friend/partner to read a book while they wait (I have no
waiting room). Although I love children and have one of
my own, if they are not there for a massage, please make
arrangements for them to play elsewhere during your
session.
Q. Sometimes I'm sore after a Deep Tissue
Massage. Why is that?
A. After a deeper tissue massage, your muscles may become
sore just as they would be sore after a vigorous work
out. I always suggest to my clients that they drink
PLENTY of water to help flush lactic acid and toxins out
of their system. Sometimes taking an ibuprofen after a
session will help as it thins the blood and allows it to
flush through muscle tissue and reduce any irritation.
Being sore after a massage (sometimes up to 48 hours
later) is common but, doesn't happen to everyone. After
that you are going to feel wonderful! Its worth it!
Q. Where do I park?
Parking for *Elements* is behind the building. If you
are heading towards downtown on East Ave, take a left
onto Oxford and go into the second driveway entrance on
your right. There is a large parking lot with visitor's
spaces. If it is after 5pm you may park anywhere in the
middle of sides of the parking lot. Otherwise, you will
have to park in a "visitor" parking spot. If you are
heading away from downtown on East Ave, take a right onto
Oxford and its the second entrance on your right. Call if
you get lost!
